Ten Years of Hof – Cultural and Conference Center

A little more than ten years ago our culture center Hof was formally opened. I was there for the opening concert and since then I’ve been there for many more. For a while I had a contract with Hof to document various events happening there and then later on I’ve worked closely with SinfoniaNord and Atli Örvarsson, recently many film and television soundtracks have been recorded at Hof.

Some of the highlights are a visit from Jethro Tull frontman Ian Anderson and his band, Eivør with Sinfóníuhljómsveit Norðurlands, Nýdönsk, Emilíana Torrini, Ásgeir Trausti, Dimma, Agent Fresco, Karlakór Akureyrar Geysir, Pálmi Gunnars, Ragnar Bjarnason and of course Megas, among many others. Going through my keywords I see around 20.000 photos marked as taken in our of Hof.

I’ve put up two exhibitions in the main corridor, Stemmning í Hofi (Atmosphere in Hof) a collaboration with Skapti Hallgrímsson, Þórgnýr Dýrfjörð and Þórhallur Jónsson in 2012 and Norðlenskt tónlistarfólk (Northern musicians) in 2013.
